The one I use calls for:
*1 lg bag of tater tots
*1 lg can of cream of mushroom soup
*1 lb or ground beef (browned)
*2 cups of cheddar cheese
*1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
Mix all together in lightly greased baking dish and cook according directions on tater tots bag (usually 20-25 minutes at 400).
But I googled "tater tot casserole" a few weeks ago and found there are MANY variations of the recipe. So if you don't find the one you were looking for here, I would google it.
This is what I use to make it: browned ground beef and onion, mixed with a can of drained green beans and can of cream of mushroom soup. Put in casserole dish and pour a bag of tatertots on top. Bake, uncovered, 350 degrees, about one hour.

Mine is like Neeley's except we use cheddar cheese. Happy eating! It is very filling and goes a long way.

Here's mine-- I layer this, in this order, in a glass pie plate:
1 lb browned ground beef & onions
1 can drained green beans
enough tater tots to cover that
mixed together: one can mushroom soup & one can milk-- mix then pour over tater tot layer
shredded cheddar cheese- about two cups, or enough to cover
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the tater tots are done. Yummy!

I layer my tater tot casserole.
Layer 1 - browned ground beef with or without onions, green pepper,
celery and seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder
Layer 2 - veggies: canned green beans, corn, mixed veggies or frozen
California blend veg. (my fav) or Italian blend veg.
Layer 3 - cream of ? soup: spread over veggies
Layer 4 - shredded cheddar cheese
Layer 5 - tater tots (even the onion ones are good)
I just have to say, that we tried this at my house for the first time this past week. OMG SOOOOOOOO good. Family loved it so much we had it two days in a row(as a side) Thanks for the recipe.
