Question What kind of free show is nature putting on for you today?

From my front windows...Fog over the creek this morning and brilliant sun is shining making everything glisten. Cought the color red from the garden, tomato ready to pick.

I listen and look outside often, always something to see and admire. Today the sound of a hawk had me go see what's going on. I've an immature Coopers hawk (i think) sitting on my hammock outside. It's soak & wet and keeps shaking itself off and crying out. An adult came to check on it once & I know it must be still watching nearby since I hear it every once in a while shouting what must be encouragement to it's young one. Not sure if it's hurt or just a bit unsure of flying but there it sits, been about an hour now...

What's nature awing you with today?

I'm listening to the tree frogs chirp and watching the sunflowers turn to greet the sun.

What a fun thread Darlene. Love the way you phrased it.

Not so much nature, but it's hot and humid here with a nice breeze. The breeze is making the tree leaves sway (I love that sound) and my American flag is fluttering really really pretty!!!!

Neat how what you shared with me gives me a warm feeling too. Who's next to share some good stuff?

Update on the hawk, flew up into the spruce trees & into the woods. I can still hear it though. Looks like maybe it wanted to sit in the sun & dry off a bit.

Well, we are into day 4 of an excessive heat warning.....it;s hot, humid and windy (how is all that possible at one time?) ~ anyway, that's the show here.......anyone want my ticket?
(I am soooo much not a fan of hot weather!)
On the up side, we are supposed to get some thunderstorms later today and then chances every day for the next week or so.....now THAT;S the show I;ll come back and report on!!

took the dogs out to their business before work and with cloudy skies it was still dark. Although the sun was making an effort I still couldn't see but could hear the geese on the pond.

I'm inside all day, but I'm enjoying watching the slight breeze move the trees and blades of grass. It's warm, but not too warm...just the right temp for stretching out in the sun...stretches that go from the tips of your fingers all the way to your toes.

    Good stuff!
Anyone else want to take a few minutes to look out the window or better yet, step outside and spend a few moments seeing, touching, hearing, smelling, some of the best freebies this life has to offer?

It's cloudy outside but bright and raining.
Been watching the hummingbirds at the feeder and the unlimited supply of squirrels in the yard.
Everything was brown by tomorrow with this rain it will be green again.

Uh, it's well past morning... here at 1:00 it's basically a heat show. It was 102 yesterday, but we were promised a little cooler today. Seems to be likely. The heat clouds are building up much earlier in the day so at least we're not sitting under steady blazing sun. We too have a (small) chance of thunderstorms later. Here's hoping.

No wildlife. Or petlife. All the neighborhood cats are smart enough to be holed up inside with the fans and a/c. I can't wait until it's cool enough -- another couple of months at least -- to open doors and windows.

I went outside just for a second. Decided it was too hot and humid so I returned to the a/c. I did see a grasshopper on my mail box. Odd I didn't see any lizards which the are usually every where.

Darlene, I loved reading your post. It made me feel like I was there seeing what you were seeing.

This morning I was lucky enough to see two cotton-tail bunnies hopping across the road. While hanging laundry out to dry, I heard some bees buzzing around.
