Unexpected rewards of frugality

I love Uno, too. Another fun card game we used to play with my Mom is "Spoons." My brothers and I always had fun seeing who could grab the last spoon!

When my boys were younger we always played board games. They and us loved it. But, now that their older, only have 2 at home, they're always locked in their rooms with their video games. I hate it. I love it when the electric goes off. The boys come out of their rooms, we sit and talk together. We play games, or just sit and talk. But, as soon as the electric comes back on it's back in their caves. The last time it went out during Ike, we had 2 1/2 days together. When it came back on my 18 yr. old looked at me and grinned and said, "Well, I'll see you when it goes off again." Little brat. Don't know where he gets it. wink wink. We have our cable, telephone, and internet all bundled together. If not for that, I'd love to get rid of the TV. But, I'm just as bad as them. I wish I could just turn it off. I get up, watch Walton's and Peoples Court. By the time that's off, my morning is almost shot. I'm trying to do better this new year. Gail

Televisions and computers suck away time like black holes. Although we don't own a television, the computer is the bane of our family life. It's easy for all of us to lose entire days on the darn thing.
