Default What are the sounds of spring...

    that you enjoy listening to?

I'm enjoying the sound of the birds splashing in my birdbath, and the sound of the neighborhood children outside playing.

I enjoy the birds chiping, neighbors out and about in the yards and the kids playing outside. I also enjoy the colors of spring-the daffadils, azaleas and the dogwoods!

Yard full of wild birds...they sing and chirp a lot.

We have baby chickens....peep, peep, peep

    Neighbor on his motorcyle.

    Rototiller running.

BIG trucks going up and down our hill to farm the rented fields next to us. Currently loaded with liquid manure. So stinky and noisy from early morning to evening hours.

Two dogs barking at all the spring traffic on this normally quiet country road.

~I like hearing the voices of the sets of people out taking walks in the neighborhood on the nice days. It feels like a neighborhood when you see plenty of neighbors out enjoying it!~

Oh keith you beat me to it. We have a small swamp just down the road. At night the sound of frogs is LOUD. I love it. I like to go on our deck when the dogs go out and just stand there. I suspect they are tree toads and frogs too. Every once in awhile a good Bullfrog will chime in too!!

We've had a lot of bird song and enough dove cooing for a lifetime. But I think we've slid right past that and last night I was listening to my noisy air conditioner.

I finally had to break down and turn it on for a couple of hours when I got home from work to cool the place down a bit. It won't be many days until it's on for good until the end of September or mid-October.

    Nice sounds:
    -wood pecker in the neighborhood
    -chirping birds
-squirrels jumping thru the branches of the trees in the morning before it gets too noisy

    Not so nice sounds:
-neighbor calling after her 4 yr old took off running down the street
-4 yr old crying that she can't come see the dogs having just ran down the street
-my dog barking at ALL of the local lawn mowers and weed trimmers
-the buzz of that darn mosquito that is getting a little too close

    Red winged black birds
    tree frogs
lawn mowers (and the smell of fresh cut grass)
The kids playing next door. They play outside year round, but this time of year they are out past dark :-)
