I live under a rock I guess...
~Over the last two weeks I've had some strange musical experiences that have me chuckling over the degree to which I separate myself from the bustle of the world.
I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car and there are no kids with me so you can imagine how often that is. About two weeks ago I came in from my errands laughing. DH asked me what was so funny and I told him I'd just heard "Banana-Fo-Fana" on the radio. I had no idea that was a "real" song! I thought it was a camp song or something. They really got someone to record and sell that?
The next was coming back from grocery shopping hearing a very beautiful rock song. I had it blasting. When I got in the door DH asked me why I was listening to Metallica. Didn't know but it was apparently their popular "Fade to Black".
Last night I discovered the singer Adele. And she's been out and super popular for 5+ years now.
It cracks me up!~~Constance

I can't even imagine, there's always music playing in the house, car, everywhere here, and the kids have the same love for music that my husband and I have.
I'm glad you found Adele, she's amazing! I love her!!! We've seen Metallica in concert several times and love them as well! Here's to discovering many more!

Then I'm probably right under that rock with you
. I love music and I used to listen to it when I was by myself...now, my dh has been home for over a decade and if I get the chance for complete silence, I take it.
He listens to everything loud, whether it's the truck radio, the house stereo or the TV and it drives me up the ever loving wall. So, while I still love music, I no longer enjoy it."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon
"Infinite goodness has wide arms." Dante

Same here...I love Adele. My daughter is a dancer so I'm always hearing the latest and greatest music. I'm stuck on Florence and the Machine right now. Amazing!

I have iheart radio on my phone and listen while I am running. My dd only wants to listen to the top 40 music while we are running around in the car together. I HATE hearing the SAME song over and over. I hope you get to have more experiences listening to music

Music is my main weakness. Hundreds of CDs, thousands of songs gained online (through various legal ways, for those that care), plus adding in things like Spotify and Pandora. Pretty much the only time I'm not listening to music is when I'm sleeping. I had to majorly reign in my music budget a couple of years back, but in the meantime things like Spotify have popped up.
'50s pop music was a trip, that's for sure.

Don't worry about it, Constance. As soon as your kids hit teen age, you'll be the expert on new music!

I have a couple of hundred songs in my iTunes library, and 20-30 CDs that I haven't copied over yet. I pretty much like it all, except for some of the heavy metal where they just scream for the whole song. I have rap and rock, musicals, opera, classical, jazz (love Diana Krall), blues, and even a bunch of old radio commercials!!
