Exclamation A few reasons why we need to simplify at these times

I just got this in the simple living newsletter written by Janet Luhrs who has written The Simple Living Guide and can be seen at www.simpleliving.com

What a fabulous time to simplify!

The more chaotic the world becomes, the more important it is to create serenity and positive energy in your own life. Here's why simplicity offers so much right now:

    * Simplicity brings calm. There is calm when you've stripped away your meaningless commitments, expenses and clutter. There is calm when you can rest in peaceful surroundings. There is calm when you've conserved your precious energy for what matters.

    * Simplicity brings order. There is order when your home is filled with only what you truly love and use. There is order when you can find what you're looking for. There is order when you're not wasting time.

    * Simplicity brings peace of mind. There is peace when you're not living on a financial edge, worried about consumer debt. There is peace when your day starts and ends by doing what you love. There is peace when your work and personal relationships are clear.

    * Simplicity brings harmony. There is harmony when you're living according to the call of your heart and soul. There is harmony when you aren't overwhelmed by too much stuff, too many choices, and too little time. There is harmony when you know you're living your absolute best life.

    * Simplicity brings energy. Best of all, when you've pared your life to what really brings you joy, and what really matters - you'll have energy to live a robust life. You'll have energy to focus on solutions, not fear. You'll have energy to reach out and make a difference, whether it's smiling at a clerk, helping your kids with homework, or marching for peace - you've made a positive difference, and isn't that what our world needs more of right now?

This is what inner simplicity and simple living is all about!!

That is very enlightening article. It gives me concrete reasons for decluttering my home and my life . I am printing it out in a pretty font to hang on my refrigerator. Thanks again CJ.

    I don't know how I haven't seen this before?

But I just came into the village to ask you a million things about inner simplicity, which I'm seriously lacking right now, despite the fact I'm well read on the subject. I'm just not 'living' it. It is having a really bad effect on everything else in my life and I'm in a really bad space.

And this thread was top of the list.

A million Thank - you's (you'll never know how much I REALLY appreciate this!) I've printed it out too.

thanks, I love that and how she puts it. I totally agree. As my life gets more chaotic, it's calming and soothing to restore things to a simpler level.

CJ, those are some great thoughts, and I have trying to live tose same thoughts for many tears, but the world (I hate to say this) has no need for living the lifestyle that we know is the right way to go. The bottom line has bnecome the ruling factor. But, I love you guys
