Question Where in your home do you go to get away from it all?

When things get kind of loud and I am feeling the stresses of the day, I head off to my bathroom and light a candle and put on a mud mask, hook up my portable spa and relax! Do you have a room to escape to, and what do you do to relax then?

I think my relax time is being online, and reading the store flier ads..but I agree a nice bath with a candle is very nice too!

I don't have a room to escape to, but once in a while, if the weather permits, I can herd my two rugrats outdoors and enjoy the quiet with a cheap novel and cup of coffee.

Sometimes I make my dh watch the kids, and I go to my room to read in bed. That's only if I've had a really, really rotten day.

I am in the process of creating a little quilting/scrapbooking area in my basement, though, so I hope I will be able to escape there soon

Once in a great while when 2 year old ds is making me absolutley mental (up my butt, whining over something stupid constantly all day), I'll lock myself in the bathroom- just so he'll stop pulling at me and I won't have to see him. When he goes away and actually starts to play with his toys- I'll come out and read in my bedroom or something. But usually, my relax time comes after he goes to bed for the night. Sometimes I have to wonder how I make it thru the day.

I go either downstairs to the computer or in the living room to read.

I usually get online or go threw the fiers while ds is sleeping and dd is playing gleefullly by herself in her room.Last night I actually got to take a bath(first time in 6 mo)for an hour.I loved it.I also like hanging the clothes outside cause its on the other side of the yard and so even when dd is playing it is total peace and quite where I'm at.

I go upstairs to our bedroom and lock the door. The computer is in our room so I either get on the computer or I can light a candle and take a long hot bath...

Nowhere in the house for me to escape from it all YET - as soon as we remodel the hall bath it will have a garden/sunken tub like our old house and I will use that as my retreat just as I used to. For now I head outside to the garden.

I go out behind the barn and just sit - I like the sound of the animals and the birds. If i am super super stressed, my family knows to look for me at the back of my closet with the lights off, curled up in my big coats - yeah , I 'm a little bit of a freak and unfortunately my kids know it.

We're still getting settled in and unpacking, placing, flinging....but I have a feeling that it'll be either in my "office/sewing room" or the exercise room.....

Wow - never had a place to escape to - maybe that's why I feel certifiable most of the time?!

There is no place in my home to go and relax that either the boys or the cats can't find me. Not even the bathroom is safe! I guess in warm weather the only place I can think of is the back porch. In this cold weather I'd have to say I will be escaping down to work!

I go to my bedroom where I can turn on the t.v. or listen to music during the winter months. During the summer I go out into the back yard. I love it out there.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~
