I think there is a big difference between happiness and true joy. To my way of thinking, happiness depends on your circumstances, but true joy is something deeper and that we can still have in times of profound sorrow. EX: When I lost my grandfather, I was greiving deeply because I missed him, but I also took such great comfort and joy in knowing that he had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior just 10 days before he died. I know that I will see him again one day in heaven and we will have a glorious reunion.
