Default fluffy goose quilts and flannel sheets

Do you recognise those times when things change? The changing of the seasons is such a subtle thing; often the changes go by and we don't notice them. Suddenly winter is here, or it's hot and you know it's summer. Well today I noticed a tiny change in the weather and the light. It's not cool, but it's not warm either. It's that temperature that feels so comfortable on your skin that you barely notice it. There is a slight breeze, and that's what first alerted me to the change. When it comes, the trees and plants move not to summer time, but to autumn's. Every now and then leaves fall. The sun is shining at the back of the rain forest so it's picking up the movement of even the tiniest leaf. It's very beautiful.

Soon I'll be wearing warmer clothes, I love that time of year. I'll be able work in my garden all day and not come inside because of the heat. Soon I'll have to make up my warm winter nest bed. Summer cotton sheets will be put away until November and we'll be cozy under fluffy goose quilts and flannel sheets.

I love this time of year. The promise of cooler temperatures makes me happier than I can tell you.

    Life's good.

LOL Bethany today the wind was blowing so hard the ski hill closed due to a tree blowing down across the access road. DD nearly lost her duvet (sort of like one of your goose quilts) as it took off flying, held down only by the clothes pins to the line.

she caught it just as it was pulling loose and told me it was gusting so bad it would have gone over the top of the roof.

The sun was shining brightly, spring sun, but the wind was cold and sharp and very very strong.

I brought my bargain primroses in just now because it just hit zero on my back porch.

I think I can feel spring coming and the leaving of the cold ice of winter just as you feel the cooler breezes of autumn start to puff and drift in.
