Does noise bother you?
When we were living in the city, it was one of the noisest places on earth I'm sure. Jets flying over, trucks on the by-pass, horns honking, etc. etc.
As someone with fibromyalgia, noise really bothers me. So when we moved to the country, I found is just so peaceful. Seldom do we hear a lot of noise, unless lawn mowers are going during the day. I can shut my windows though if it gets too bad.
BUT while quilting yesterday I realized just how much my computer makes a noise. I ended up having to shut it off because it was really bothering me. I got to thinking about all other noises in our homes. We have a fan in the kitchen that makes noise. When its on, we have to move it a certain way so it doesn't make a humming noise. Then there is the washer, the fridge, the grainmill, tv, etc.
Does the noise of everyday living bother you?

Most of the daily noises don't bother me, as a rule. However, at work. . . . . all the alarms, call bells, beepers, :pullhair: After 12 hours of work, I am sensory overloaded and just the slightest noise can set me off on a screaming or crying jag.
Thankfully, I have an hour drive home- to unwind and listen to nothing but the hum of my engine motor.

Certain noises bug me. We have some distant neighbours who have a party about twice a year. We can't hear their music but we hear the base beat and it goes on into the small hours of the morning. THAT, I hate.
I don't like being in the city because of the noise (and the smells) and I can't stand DH's music - he likes all the old 60s, 70s and 80s music. One of the things I love about being in my home is it's so quiet here. At night, most of the time, you can hear a pin drop. I love to sit on my front verandah and listen to the birds or the silence.
Having said all that, when I'm alone in my car I have the music blaring out - and I sing along with it.

I am extremely noise sensitive. I hear things that most people don't and it drives me nuts.

I'm the exception I guess! (heh - imagine that!

My road ends at the runway of El Paso International Airport!
The only time the air traffic noise gets to me is the 2AM Red-Eye flight to DFW ~ that one gets to me!!
Our swamp cooler is noisy, the window AC we have is noisy, the kids are noisy, the dogs are always scuffling, plus we live in a cul-de-sac where all the kids play.....
I'm actually less noise conscience here than I was living in the country back east!

I can't deal with noise at night, I wear earplugs because DH"s snoring drives me crazy. Then there is a train that on quieter nights we hear real well. I don't often hear the fire department three blocks away I don't know why that is. Dogs barking, cats meowing, all drive me nuts at night. What's worst of all is loud neighbors partying. So I sleep using earplugs.
During the day barking dogs and loud cars drive me batty. But with the kids I can break down crying when they spend a great deal of time during the day fighting, crying, whining, screaming, tantrum-ing, and so fourth. That can reduce me to a crying mess. That noise really bothers me. Certain toys too are bad. But all in all day time noises really don't bother me all that much.~~ Missy ~~

some noises do but I like some sound to drown out the ringing in my ears. Mild tinnitus. At least it's mild till you turn everything off like in a power outage, then it's like having your own personal field of crickets chirping softly.

Wind chimes. Drive me nuts. We had a neighbor install a particular tinny high pitched set, and we are in a windy city. Right outside our bedroom window and hers.
Lasted 3 nights thank goodness, and the 3rd night something awful happened to them, and they were never heard again. (wasn't me although I had fantasies)

I hate noise! I can't read or use my computer if the TV is on or if there is music playing, drives me nuts! If I had a choice I would live miles from any neighbours!

I love living where I do and mostly hear the water or birds. 2 noises invade my peaceful world (bubble) & get my back up, I don't "do" tension well.

~There are people up the road who let their dog bark often. Can't they hear it?
How obnoxious, rude & inconsiderate.
The hubby also likes to reve his motorcycle engine. I so wish they would move. They don't live close but close enough for their rudeness to bother me.
~People who fish or kids that goof off on the creek. Don't they know voices carry big time on the water & I don't care to hear them yell at one another, often swearing? Love it when school starts & the weather gets cooler and they are all gone, gone, gone.

Noise really doesn't bother me much at all....
unless I have a migrane.
Then, watch out. The humming of the computer monitor or a florescent light bulb is agony.... so is any kind of light.
Otherwise, I'm likely to have on the radio/tv while doing other things, including falling asleep on the couch at night.
