Question What are you doing this week to simplify your life? Aug 30 - Sept 4th

This week I'm re-evaluating everything. I'm looking at where I want to go on my continued journey towards simplicity.

Life has gotten so hectic this summer and I'm yearning once again for the simple life I had before this summer. Yesterday was a good start.

What are you doing to simplify your life this coming week?

This morning I'm making a few phone calls and saying no to some commitments. One being looking after a friend's children. I know she will be very disappointed but I need to think about me and my family first. The money would really help but I need some down time. Dh and I have been through a lot in the last couple years and the past few months have taken their toll on me. I feel like I've come to a point of burnout. This weekend I've slept and cried and not much more. Today I'm feeling much better and I'll feel even better after I make a few calls.

I'm more then ready to get back to a simpler and more peaceful life.

Tina I'm glad you are taking time for you and saying "no" to things that donot work for your family

CJ~I'm trying to do the same thing. I have an extremely hectic schedule this year between my new job, homeschooling, outside classes, prcatices, church and family commitments.

This week I am heading over to the lake with my family and some friends. The first few days will just be the twins and I along with my friend Donna and her girls. Donna and I both are feeling really stretched and I know that she and I will be looking at ways to ease the burdens for ourselves and for each other.

I also turned down an invitation this evening....it didn't mean enough to me and I wanted to stay home, instead, knowing Pierre is so tired when he's home from work.

I can see with September starting, all the school meetings in the 4 schools and everything with school starting this week--it will be so much....so I'm only concentrating on what's essential for our family.

I do not want to feel obligated to anyone, so I am not saying "yes" to any comittments until I feel that I want to take on that responsibility.
