Default my daily pix # 12

Hi ladies, I'm back with my pix!

I've been busy gardening these past couple of days. The east coast of Australia, where I live, is in the grips of a very bad drought. We've had a couple of nights and days of rain but it hasn't been enough yet to really soak the soil and get things growing again. All around here there is brown grass and dying plants. You can see by my first pic what I'm talking about. This garden would normally be green and very lush at this time of year. This is the last area I have to weed before summer. Over the white trellis is a pink wisteria that is just getting its first leaves. There is no sign of flowers yet, maybe it's going to be another casuality of the drought. I hope not.

Of course, things are never as grim as we assume they are. You can see from my second pic that I'm still able to pick a little posy of spring flowers for my kitchen. This posy is showing sweet peas, sage, and the first of the fragrant stocks. What you can't see, but can in pix #3, are nastursiums, maiden hair fern (which grows wild here), little daisies and pansies.

My favourite kind of flower arrangement. A natural bunch of assorted flowers plopped into a jug.

Things here are starting to turn to fall colours and the leaves are starting to fall on the ground.

We are still very short of water here in Perth, Bethany even though we have had a very wet winter. There's even a chance of hail tomnorrow!!
I love the flowers, a lot of our native shrubs are flowering now.

Beautiful picks Bethany! If you need rain, I'll send my dd#2 to wash your car. It *almost* always works here. We've even considered hiring her out during dry spells (Keep in mind that she's a poor college student so some sort of arrangement for airfare and lodging would need to be in order before hand.... )

Wow, that's some car, Angie! It's great to get a pictorial response - and a wet one too. how great is that!

Lisa, maybe I could get some sort of government funding for your DD and she could tour the state washing cars as she goes. We sure could use the rain.

Chriss, Lucie and everyone, thanks for your kind thoughts. It's fun doing this when I know you like seeing the pix. News flash! it's supposed to rain today so who knows what the pic will be today. Stay tuned.

I love the beautiful posies. I hope you get some rain soon. What type of trees do you have in your yard? I love the leaves, they almost look fernlike.
