my daily pix #17
Yesterday I went to the mall down on the coast, it's about 30 kms from here. The town is called Maroochydore and the mall is Sunshine Plaza - after the city I live in which is the city of the Sunshine Coast. We are about halfway up the eastern coast of Australia - an hour's flight north of Sydney.
The mall was quiet yesterday with lots of young mums with their babies and grandmas and poppas having coffee in the little food court.
Today I have 3 pixs. The first one is the part of the mall just after I entered. Julia, it's near the Myer entrance. The mall probably has 200 stores, the bigs ones being Myer, Target, KMart and Coles.

This is a little food area halfway down the walkway between the two main areas. Sitting here you can see water on both sides as the mall is built on a waterway.

What a beautiful place. It amazes me how much we have in common... stores for example and that pic of the people in the food court could be a picture of any of the malls here. Not that I think you live without this & that it's just that I think I would feel right at home there & it happily surprises me.
The flora & fauna & other things just say home to me.
Thanks again Bethany, I really enjoy the way you share the world around you with us.

Darlene, when I work at our store, many of the American tourists I talk to tell me that Australia and America are very similar. Many of the older folk tell me that Australia seems to be like the US of old, when things were quieter and gentler.
I used to think that Australia was a very English type of place but when I went to England I realised that we are much more Americanised than I thought.
I'm sure you'd enjoy it here. We seem to share the same values and, for the most part, we speak the same language.
If you and your DH ever come over this way, I would love to have you stay with us.

What a lovely mall. Thanks for sharing your country with us. I am afraid that it will probably be the closest I ever get to travelling abroad so I am living vicariously through your pictures. You are giving me my photo vacation, LOL.
