    Default DaisyLady's pix Sep 30

Well, I've finally found some time to take pictures and post them.

This is my grandmother's china cabinet that I talked about in one of forestdale's pix threads. It belonged to her mother and she passed it on to my grandmother when she married. My grandmother was very important in my childhood and in my adulthood. She was a Christian. She married rather late for her generation at the age of 28 and was blessed with four children one of them my father. Her husband died when my father was three leaving my gran to raise my uncle (4) my dad (3) my aunt (2) and my aunt (under 1). She did remarry and took on 4 stepchildren as well. Then had 3 more kids. Her second husband died when my dad was a teenager. She remarried a third time much later in life and to her dismay ended up divorced.

She and I used to have tea together when I was little so I store my favourite tea pots etc in this cabinet.

This a closer picture. The Royal Doulton figure is named Christine and was given to me by my mother on my 40th birthday. She said it reminded her of me when I was a teenager.

I am very fortunate to be really close to my mom. She is one of my best friends.
