I'm inspired
I watched a Ray Charles concert and interview last night on pay TV. OMG It was so inspiring. I'm sure he could sing the birds right out of the trees, that man.
The concert was a BBC program featuring the Royal Philharmonic orchestra + Ray's own band. They seem like a tight group but I guess it's like a marriage after being together so long.
He played a range of things - which I think is one of the reasons he's so outstanding - from Kermit the Frog's "It's not easy being green", "Georgia", "Take the Chains from my Heart" to the Moonlight Sonata, he first learnt classical music when he was a small child. He also played a few european standards like "If you go away" and some others.
What feeling he has in his voice. He could sing the alphabet and and I'd sit there gobsmacked. During the interview he was very humble about his talent although he did think he'd done a lot of good influencial work. This was a breath of fresh air to me as I can't stand talented artists who think they are being humble by saying that they think their work is rubbish or it's for other people to decide if they are good or not. Of course it's for other people to dicide but they must have an opinion as well. And what's the problem with saying that you think that some of your work is good. It's just being honest! Go Ray!
The orchestra must have been fans too, becuase when he finished and his helper came on stage to lead him away - while he was dancing the whole time (LOL) - the orchestra stood and applauded. It did my heart good to see that. Artists acknowledging the talents of another performer. Excellent.
Seeing this program really inspired me. It's inspired me to be a better person and to enjoy myself more. I'm going to try to perfect some of the things I do for my own pleasure and to have those things for myself and for anyone else who wants to share them. I want to enjoy my day to day work as much as he did. I want to give more, be more and do more.
And I'm going to buy some of his early (1960s) CDs.

That must have been so awesome! I remember the first time I saw my first off broadway production, it was Les Miserable. I was so moved, it took my breath away.
On another hand there was a BeeGees concert on TV a few years ago that had me just so happy & singing my little heart out for days.
Moral of these moments is~Every once in a while there are things that move you... enjoy enjoy, enjoy.~*Darlene*~
