Where do you find beauty?

The radio program this afternoon asked the question "Where do you go to find beauty".

One lady called in and said since she has been leading her blind friend around, she has found beauty where she had never seen it before. It must be something to experience using your eyes for someone else.

My question is - where do you go to find beauty, to be surrounded by it? Is through specific people, through nature or...... Tell us where or how.

~ in the laughter of my kids....
~ in a kitten's purr....
~ in the sunrise over *my* mountain....
~ in tears of joy....
~ in that tingle I get when I know I'm loved....
~ in a rainbow after a surprise storm....

so many places - thanks for making me recall that beauty is all around me, but I might have to look for it....

In my Bible, in the psalms, in Job.

In books, poetry sometimes.

In the faces of my kids and my dh.

In my uncluttered serene horizontal surfaces.

Looking at water, trees blowing in the wind.

Living in each season as it comes.

Looking at the stars and thinking about time and space.

In a good recipe.

Watching my friends baby boy's smile. He has the most gorgeous grin and yesterday he was just turning himself inside out grinning back and trying to talk back. He has Down's syndrome and may face some extra challenges in life but he is the nicest little person and is absolutely perfect just the way he is.

I think your brain needs to be on the "beautiful" setting. some people never see the beauty in anything yet I can sit on my front verandah and be surrounded by the most beautiful and astounding things. If you know that beauty can be found in the simplest thing, then all you need to do to find beauty is to open your eyes and look around you.

~ in the wind
~ watching the trees sway in the breeze.

Beauty for me is in every living thing, animal, plant or human. Sometimes it is obvious sometimes you really have to look for it.

When I want to find beauty, when I really need it to be obvious, I tend to go outside where there are lots of trees and plants.
