Talk about gratitude for today......
........a friend from church asked me and my 2 DDs to go with her and her 2 DDs to the Disney New Year's celebration today. I had never been and for some reason, I thought it was indoors, but it was an outdoor street festival. It was a nice sunny day - 65 or so, so I thought okay.
The girls had a ball dancing in the closed off streets, catching the streamers that flew when they counted down to the New Year at noon. We picked a spot on the sidewalk and ate hot dogs and watched the girls dance.
Eventually I noticed my 3 year old didn't have her paci. I asked her where it was telling her that if she had lost it - it was gone. My friend's older daughter told me she saw a woman at the moon bounce thing they went on that found a paci. Relating this bit of info took only seconds and when I looked up my 3 year old was GONE!
I mean GONE! Out of sight! I cannot describe to you the terror in my heart. I asked my friend where she was. She told the other 2 girls to sit down and not move. Another couple sitting near by said they would watch the girls and we took off.
We had run into another couple from our church and they started looking too. But where do you look in a crowd of people??? I headed back towards the moon bounce, looking for a cop along the way and not finding one.
I couldn't even figure out how to go about finding her. I headed back towards where were we sitting and just as I got there, my friend came towards me with Amanda on her shoulders.
She had found her almost back up to the stage. They had gone up there a few minutes before to get some of the streamers that flew at noon. I held her and cried. She cried. I cannot explain to you the absolute terror that went through me. It's hard to call a code Adam outdoors.
Once we had calmed down some, I took her by the hand and we both walked to the moon bounce. There, the lady helping the kids onto the bounce, was holding Amanda's green and yellow paci in her hand.
All I can say is something like this puts "stuff" into perspective. I know, without a shadow of a doubt that my little girl's guardian angel was with her, and God Almighty took care of us.

My heart was just racing and aching for you as I read this. I know the terror when your child is "missing". I'm so glad it turned out well and that everyone is once again together and safe.
