Default What did you give away in October?

We have a wonderful thread in Frugal Tips about what we got free during the month.  Simple Living is about balance and generosity so I've been wondering what is being given to others as well as received.

DH and I donated a gift basket to the local school this month.  I've also given away my homemade tomato relish and strawberry jam, and I invited a single woman who has just moved in down the street to come and collect some plant cuttings from my garden so she can build up her very sparse garden. Yesterday I gave some eggs and homegrown lettuces to my next door nieghbour.

I know you're a generous lot, so who else wants to add to this list?

We gave away some potatoes along with some tomatoes. I also sent 150 free telephone minutes to a new friend. In fact I put it in the mail today.

I gave 2 loaves of freshly made bread along with a batch of cookies to a widower dh did some work for.

I love this thread Rhonda. Great idea!!

This is a great thread! We donted embroidered hats to our school's harvest festival for the auction. I gave bags of outgrown children's clothing to a couple of friends. Took a bag of toys to Goodwill. I'm in a cleaning out mood, so there's more to come!

I donated canned foods for a fund raiser for a hurricane victim family.

I'm donating more canned foods for something else. They didn't say what it was for.

    Thumbs up Great thread!

Gave nonperishables and toiletries to my church for Harvest Sunday. The food is given to the local food bank and the toiletries to the Lutheran Home in Kane.

Gave a bag of baby clothes and extra baby cereal I received through Freecycle to a family with a new baby boy. (They gave us a Peanut Butter Pie as a thank you! )

To give and to receive is a beautiful thing!

Lets see we gave cash to huricane relief, a big bunch of apples to one of my sweet elderly clients who feeds the deer and a whole trunk load to goodwill.

It's not a thing but I did give my time at the food pantry filling government commoditys for the people that needed them

I sent a package to a troop in Iraq that contained snacks and magazines. I don't have anyone in Iraq, but just wanted to show my thanks!

I'm going to visit some friends today and I'm taking over a basket of homegrown goodies - a bunch of fresh bay leaf sprigs, a bunch of Italian parsley, lettuces, lemons, eggs and tomato relish.

I gave some new books to the library, some toys to my friend for my Gdaughter, and put away some other items to give away when I see the people I want to give them to.
