Life is too short
~to live so seriously, we never stop to have any fun
~to not take time to smell the roses
~to feel guilty when we take care of ourselves
~to not be able to spend on a few fun things, even when we have debt or the money is tight
~to not eat out once in awhile at a fancy restaurant, blowing away all our frugality for the night
~to not jump in mud puddles when we see them
~to cry over spilt milk
~to continue to bash ourselves because we didn't do things right the first time ie: not going into debt, not be frugal, etc.
~to not take care of our bodies and spoil ourselves with long leisurely bubble baths, manicures or a new hair cut.
~to not buy a magazine when we are drawn to it
~to not spend on a hobby we enjoy doing
What else can you add to this list?

enjoy family time, and time alone with dh
spend time with friends
help others who need it
enjoy the good times, grieve the sad times, and live life like there is no tomorrow.
pray thru life as a long sometimes happy, sometimes sad, always hopeful conversation with the person who is always in my corner and yours, --God.
buy the odd magazine or book just cause
wear makeup, get my hair cut, wear nice clothes and lose weight to treat myself

puddles and jumping in
I was walking beside my then 4 yr old dd (she is now a dignified 23 yr old)
and she jumped smack in a big puddle splashing me all over.
Why Sylvia? Why did you do that to me?
Her answer? Delivered in this serious dead pan, Queen Victoria in full regalia dignity, was this
Because it wasn't INVENIANT for me to step around it mummy!
She invented the word inveniant, I think she intended to say conveniant but 4 year olds aren't always perfect in their span of knowledge (even when they think they are).
I asked her once, do 4 year olds know EVERYTHING? and she considered it seriously and thoughtfully (then as now she is like that) and then answered YES in a quiet, decisive and firm way.
