Smile Taking time to find yourself

Do you ever stop to take time to find yourself, to dream, to reach into the inner you and feel the wonders of who you are? Have you taken time to stop a minute and listen to what you hear? Have you taken time of late to think about where your heading and what you want to do?

This has been a real week of pondering for me and refocusing and dreaming again. Its been wonderful to look deep within and pull out some goals that will stretch me and yet hopefully make me a better person. I love weeks like this - simple and yet productive.

    Thoughts!

My life is full of prayers right now. I have decided I still need to do things that make ME happy, bring ME calm, ADD to my life.
So with that I am reading atleast one book a day and up to 3. It does not take away from my family. Most of it is when they are sleeping. I love it!

I have been "pondering" a LOT more as of late. I think my empty nest has made me more introspective.....guess there was not much time for that before. Another good thread CJ!

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I take more time now, than before. Nearly every night when I am up after the kids have gone to bed, I love to sit beside their beds and just watch them sleep. I marvel at the wonder of being a Mother, I renewed in my mission. It's time for me to reflect on what is important. The things I do each day are for them. I have learned to take more time for me (when I can get it) But at the end of the day as I watch them sleep I remember how blessed I am and what a gift they really are............ BTW..... They are so good when they are sleeping

Lori thank you for sharing what motherhood is all about. I too love to watch my kids sleeping and wonder at how they are created and what joys they bring to our family.

Heaven there are a couple of great books to read. One is the Simple Living Guide by Janet Luhrs that will help you to learn about yourself and inner simplicity. It has been one of the most profound books I've read that has helped me walk out a simple lifestyle.

One thing I've learnt to do after reading this book is to sit and listen to the quiet. It takes time to get to that place but now I so enjoy just listening. I also love to ponder - drives dh nuts at times because usually after pondering for days, I want to make changes and make they like yesterday, kwim. It takes time to find YOU and I always say take baby steps. But in finding that place of contentment, of inner joy and beauty - there just isn't anything better!!

Kindred, if you are reading when they are sleeping, when are YOU sleeping??? lol. Lori, I also can't believe that I am so fortunate to be mother to 3 beautiful children. I can not imagine my life without them- they have taught me so many lessons.

I really do try to take time to dream, to relect on who I was, the person that I am now and where I would like to be in the future. It gives me a peaceful feeling.
