Simple living at its best

I looked at the new picture on the home page of the village, and was reminded of the beauty of fall. As I sit here at the computer, I'm looking out my window and seeing Maple trees blowing in the wind, turning the colors of fall. I see golden leaves falling to the ground.

Blowing in the wind, they continue to fall. Through the leaves, I can see blue sky, not a cloud anywhere - oh the color of blue reminds me of the ocean and how I loved putting my feet in it on a trip to the west coast.

While sitting here, the house is filled with the smell of freshly baked bread and mingling in that smell is homemade pizza cooking in the oven.

Yes this is the simple life and I love it more with each passing day.

As I close my eyes I can hear the cars and the sounds of the city.
But my nose tells the real story... I can smell the hot peppers and banana peppers drying in my dehydrator. I can smell the muffins, just out of the oven. I can smell the roast that is cooking in the pressure cooker as we speak.
When I open my eyes I see Tyler, drinking his juice and watching Toy Story... pushing his cars and saying "weee". Now he's running... I don't know why, I guess just to run. What a smile.

As I sit here I think... Ahhh how I long for a simple country life, but until then I will try to bring the country to the city.
