Default 3/08/2009 What are your "Simple Sunday" plans..and are they frugal?

I haven't done much so far. Skipped church...darn time change, couldn't pull myself out of bed. I did put away dishes from last night and have been playing around on FV.

    I still need to:
-plan on having a "no spend" day
-go to the office and pick up tomorrow's charts
-do a couple of loads of laundry
    -return SIL's steam cleaner
    -leftovers for supper
-may make some choc chip cookie bars
    -read, relax, enjoy the day!

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

No 'simple' plans. We are taking my son and his friends for a skating party for his birthday.

I haven't been on skates in.........forever. Wish me luck

Unfortunately, Sunday is the day we have to bring our 11 year old son back to residential school and while there we have family therapy. This takes up half of our day. The unfortunate part is that it is done on Sunday's. I like to kick back at home and have big family dinners on Sunday. But, his well being is more important.

So, that is our plan. It is an hour drive there, an hour of therapy, and hour drive back but we pick up DS16 on the way, then home to make dinner.

We are headed out to church right now, may pick lunch up out and then home for the rest of the day. Going to schedule out my week, make my weekly menu, and get the kids ahead a bit on lessons.

I think that most of my plans today can be considered simple and frugal in some way. It is a beautiful day here. It will be in the upper 70's. I have the windows open and am enjoying the breeze coming in.

    So far...
    - Gone to CVS and Walgreens to get the weekly deals. I paid $22 out of pocket and saved $100.
    - Straightened, dusted and vacuumed my bedroom, living room, dining room, and kitchen.
    - Made lunch
    - 1 load of laundry

    Still to do...
    - Sweep and mop the hardwood floors
    - Clean the spare bathroom
    - Cook dinner
    - And finally relax for the remainder of the day.

I was up early sifting through my coupons and creating our weekly menu (we've been really slacking in this area lately). Then we grocery shopped this morning with our coupons and list in hand (We saved $12.42 with our coupons and store sales). We were home by 11:30 am and I started our chicken and bacon dinner in the crockpot. Dh started our laundry. The dishes are washing in the dishwasher and I'm about to shower (finally).

This afternoon my plans continue to be frugal:

1.) Visiting the $1 Store for a baby shower card, wrapping paper, and tissue paper. Buying an anniversary card, and a card for Grandma's birthday. I hope to spend $5 or less in this store today.

3.) Knitting more squares of my baby blanket, wrapping my baby shower gift for next Saturday (Friend's baby shower).

4.) Cleaning up the kitchen and scrubbing the counters

5.) Making chili today to have for tomorrow's dinner

It is warm, windy and looks like rain. I biked this morning and have acomplished the morning routine.I also had coffee with the neighbor and we discussed what we will be putting in the garden this year and planning it out. I am getting ready to meet DH at the gym for weightlifting and swimming.(I need to run by DD's and grab a swim cap- can't find mine- and do not need a case of green hair)Later I will rest up, have supper, then head to evening Mass.Come home and do home spa routine and manicure and pedicure.Get ready for a new week. Hope you have a happy Sunday!

We're not going anywhere today so it should be a pretty frugal day. Not like we can spend any money anyway considering the layoff. I have been going through the newspaper ads and looking at A Full Cup website and getting coupons. I've been pretty much slacking all day. I think I'm a little depressed... with all that's happened plus it just being a rainy and yucky day. I think I would rather have a cold day with it being sunny....

Later I will work on cleaning the house and when the kids go to bed I need to work on my homework... does anyone know how to use a gui to put strings into an array (java) by chance? LOL

So far, I have done nothing, besides laundry and relaxing. I may head out to the mall...have coupons for Free things..that need to be used up before expired. Other than that...I guess it's been a pretty frugal day, since I am not spending any money!

Yes, my plans are frugal, because I am not going anywhere and don't plan to spend anything. Dinner is semi-frugal, but it's Sunday!

It has been a hectic week, so we are hunkering down today (dh and me) and doing a lot of nothing. It's raining cats and dogs, and I am going to computer/read/layabout.

DH's dad was sick and in the hospital this past week, and ds got off to CA pulling his U-haul, and the phone has been ringing off the hook, and we have been to the hospital and here and there and everywhere and we are giving ourselves a quiet day.

    Got up at 10:30
Tea and reading until 11:30 - frugal
    Got ready for work
Went by Long John Silver's - neither frugal nor healthy
1-11 - I'll be at work. Frugal, but I'd rather be spending my Sunday frugally at home! Ah well, off tomorrow.
