Simple Sunday 5/3
Today is another 12 hour work day. I will be taking a big bowl of homemade cole slaw for a pitch-in. I probably won't eat dinner when I get home since we usually eat off & on all day when we do these pitch-ins. Guess I'll have to really exercise on my days off or I'll weigh a ton. Have a great day all.

Today is my handbell performance. We are doing 3 pieces throughout the service and then we have a party afterwards. I made sure to do the grocery shopping and laundry yesterday so I wouldn't have to worry about it getting done today.

Have fun Amy & enjoy your day Cat.
Heading out for a walk with Jack & the dog in a bit, probably won't go as far as we usually go today because the dog ran off yesterday
4 hours later he came walking down the driveway dragging his butt. Not sure how far he wandered away but he did this right after we came home from a 4 mile walk. He's still totally worn out today.
Not much on the agenda but hanging out some laundry. I have a feeling the in-laws will stop by to get their Riley fix. We joke that they only come to pet the dog & not see us, lol. It is nice to see how petting that dog brings them joy. I am a big fan of older people having a pet around if they can care for it, helps keep them young and happy I think.
Dinner is all set since I pulled it out of the freezer & only need to make a salad. Oh, I'll be doing some reading today too, I'm on a romance novel kick lately, lmao, & it's so not what I usually read. Enjoying it though.
Have a great Sunday all.Last edited by Darlene; 05-03-2009 at 07:48 AM.

A nice lazy Sunday here. Just finishing up the laundry, maybe vacuum (dang dog hair!), definitely knitting. Dh is going to mow the lawn for the first time this year. Maybe I'll clean off the back porch while he does that.

Filling my new $8.00 bookcase w/ cookbooks. DH is packing for Ohio again. Just 4 days this time. I'd like to take food to a park later. My son already took off for his friends house to hang. Too pretty to sit around all day. My daughters new BF will probably call her later after church. I like this guy so far. Especially if he gets her to go to church.

Sounds like everyone is planning on peaceful Sunday - even Cat who has to work!!
I'm enjoying the quiet of being awake alone - read the paper, made coffee so far.
DD is heading back to Kauai and Grandma this afternoon, so we have four hours before we take her to the airport. Need to do some laundry, changing bed sheets, planning for next week and, most important for me - start the clean out of 2 rooms a week. Think I'll tackle our bedrom first since it has the most potential!!
Have a great Sunday!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Did 3 loads laundry (cold water) and hung out. (Except for some of dh's T's, which have to be soft, not stiff, so went in the dryer).

Have Spiced peach pork roast in CP. Making some hm rolls to go with.
Took walk--don't know how far (I don't want to get all hinky about distance and cals burned, all that
) but it was 15 songs on my iPod, LOL! Some of my songs are loooooooong classical music, so.....who knows? Beautiful sunny day, 58 degrees!

Working today, but it's going to a very quiet shift.
We have a fun new exhibit up in the library on how tobacco companies manipulated info in their advertising. When you walk in, you see the library plastered with cigarette ads - at first glance it looks like the med school is sponsoring a big "start smoking" campaign. It's really pretty interesting, a lot of it old magazine ads from the 40s and 50s. I'll probably look at some of that today to help while away the hours.
When I get home tonight, I'll either read or crochet. Bedtime has been inching later and later until now it's around 3:30, sometimes 4:00. I really need to start trying to call it a night a little earlier.Donna

Just enjoying a rather quiet Sunday here on the homefront. Fixed some little things around the house that got broken, scrapbooking right now, later I have to get the kids outfits ready for in the morning. We're doing a field trip with some friends, but I'm hitting the gym before that, so we're leaving the house at 7:30 am so I can fit the gym in.

Had a pretty relaxing day here. I made banana chocolate chip muffins this morning, did a load of laundry, cleaned up a bunch of files on my computer, grilled some pork chops for dinner and I'll be making some chocolate chip cookies later.

Cleaned the kitchen, 2 bathrooms and some laundry. Took a 2 hour nap (haven't done that in a long time). DH and 2 dd's are relaxing after a late night at the Motocross race. 3rd dd is at work (she doesn't get a lazy day after the race). Will be making dinner soon and then a quiet evening before the crazy week begins.
