It's really, really cold around here, as well. I don't plan on leaving the house.

I have a whole bunch of laundry to do today that I didn't get to yesterday, including some ironing. Since it's my birthday, I'm going to see if I can't get dh to work on it with me and get it done in half the time. (Have to do it before 1, though, because the Giants are on.)

Other than that, I'm going to hunt around to find things to get rid of for my flinging goal, and just chill. DS1 and I have a date to play UNO, and DD and I have a date for the Harry Potter game.

Dinner is whatever dh decides to put together for us, as that's one chore I'll not be doing today. Until my control freak side comes out and I just make dinner anyway.

    Happy Birthday Amy

Today is COLD :snow: and glad the gas leak was yesterday and not today because it would take forever to get to the lines. (Gas line broke about 1/8 mile from my house and it could be smelled well over 3 miles away)

Currently 19f and the maps says 6-12... I am thinking we are at least a foot already and more snow coming

I knew the snow would be intense, so I made sure I don't have any outside errands to run today, unfortunately, it also means I can't get to the store to buy a paper. I will have to clear the car and shovel it off for the plow trucks at some point.

Upside about living in the condo complex - snow plows clear the parking lot. Downside of living in the condo complex - snow plows clear the parking lot with no set time and only 3 minutes notice to get out there and the time they come around varies. About 8 years ago we got a blizzard and they didn't come for 3 days. I know they are around, I just saw the Bobcat whiz by the slider.

    Today I have to
~ stay warm and pray the power stays on
    ~ breakfast, lunch, dinner

At some point I want to

~ work on the kitchen (project challenge)
~ work on the household binder
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I'm working today for a few hours, then stopping at the grocery for a couple of items I need for recipes during the week. I'm going to make some soup, change the sheets on my bed, do 2 loads of laundry, then vacuum out the laundry room. After that I will probably just veg and read a book.

Good morning! I feel hungover still, but not from alcohol! It was my ds's birthday party yesterday, and it was a smashing success!! Expensive, but fun! It was quite a sight to see 15 lab-coat sporting second graders standing in a line watching my hubby try to blow up Diet Coke bottles with mentos. The slime recipe had to be everybody's favorite, parents included!

Then after that it was out to dinner with our group of friends to celebrate all the January birthdays for the month. And unfortunately, it was our turn to pay! Ugh. That's probably why I feel hungover. It cost the same as 2 weeks for my regular grocery budget. Definitely gonna have to build this expense into our budget.

Today will be digging out from the toys and leftover party stuff we brought home and dumped in the kitchen. Doing laundry and will attempt to clean out a path in the basement as dh and his pals are going to be sheetrocking down there next weekend. YAY! Have an awesome Sunday!

    Oh, and Happy Birthday, Amy!

    Good afternoon!!
Vaccumned the MIL apt and tidied it. DH and I had croissants and read the paper together. Didn't have that romantic element I wanted w/ 3 dogs begging but hey..

Need to mt the dishwasher and refill a load
Also need to tidy my walk in pantry because everyone has been grabbing since DEC. and not rearranging.
Should do laundry too. Got myself on a 1 hour /1 job schedule today. Still feeling SLOWWW.

    straightened bookcase

Later I will: take a nap
    unload dishwasher

It is a cold and overcast Sunday here so I am staying home and doing a little housework. I have a load of dishes washing and need to toss a load of scrubs into the wash for the coming work week. I am enjoying the last weekend of the holidays and will use some time this evening for reading a good book.

    Happy bday, Amy!

I'm enjoying a beautiful California day today. I'm literally sitting here in a tank top with the windows open.

I spent most of the day just enjoying the nice weather - took the dogs for a walk, spent a little time with the goats, and played on the computer way too much.

Work tomorrow, so I'll be spending an hour or so this evening getting my stuff together and doing a little bit of work on the computer, just to ease myself back into it.

We got up at 8 to a balmy 3 degrees(-9 with windchill), but I needed newspapers so I drove my new Yukon for the first time. I'm totally in love. I did some laundry and dishes. My step-son and his girlfriend came out for dinner so I had to fix that. I went through the newspaper and clipped coupons, and swept the kitchen floor. I probably should get up and do the dinner dishes but I'm relaxing a bit. I have a vacation day tomorrow so I have all day to do more cleaning.

    Hello everyone!

I'm happy to be joining you all on the daily frugal chatter! It's been a while since I've been here, so forgive me as I'm learning everyone's name.

First of all, Happy Birthday Amy!!! I hope you enjoyed your special day!

Second, I am happy to say that I'm donig a pantry challenge and have come up with a menu plan for the whole week using things in my pantry and/or freezer. It really made for a scaled-down grocery list for tomorrow! All breakfasts, lunches and dinners are now planned for me and hubby. Even DH has been busy making things for the upcoming week and is on the bandwagon with me.

Third, I haven't spent a DIME since last Wednesday except to buy textbooks for my upcoming classes a week from Tuesday. I am working towards an HR degree, and I'll be done with my bachelors after the Spring/2011 semester, God willing. DH bought his textbooks as well, but he has a lot longer to go...once he gets his bachelors, he is signing up for law school. I'm debating on whether I should continue on for my master's degree after my bachelors, but am not sure at this point. Grad school is SO expensive, and I don't want to be trying to do it at the same time he goes to law school. So, I might wait it out. Not sure at this point.

Anyway, didn't mean to write a book here..haha. Just wanted to join in the chatter and wish you all a lovely evening!
