Help wanted when:
I have been a single mom for about 19 years of my 21 year olds life, as he was 4 when I married and was only married for 3 years. I am still raising his sister she will be 16 in May. I really think financial emergencies are hard, and car work too, but when I really wish I had more help is when my daughter is crying because she is missing her dad who has not been in contact for almost 3 yrs now. He really acted like the perfect father there for about a year or so, so he could get custody then he messed up and she is paying for it. I thank God though that he has given us the strength to go through it.

I would say back then it was finances and being sick. I think finances are a given when you're a single mother. It is tough!! I hated being sick. Many times I would literally crawl to go to the bathroom to get a drink of water or my medicine. One time I was so sick, I sent my 4 year old daughter out in the dark to get the neighbor. I ended up in the hospital that time. Broke my heart to send her for help, but I had no phone at the time. (That happened 27 years ago).

When I was single it was putting stuff together and fixing cars. Always paid a man friend so no funny stuff would be expected.I am not a handy woman.
