I am making some progress...

I did get some things accomplished that were stressing me out. I went and got my taxes re-done yesterday so I can get the Obama money for buying the house.
I called a plumber today to fix the drip in my shower.
I called and made an appointment with the gastroenterologist.
I got ahold of my homeowner's insurance company and switched my auto insurance to them also to save money.

I TRIED to get my license address changed. Yesterday they told me they needed my birth certificate. So I got it, and went up today with it. NOW they want my marriage certificate because my ss card last name is different from my birth certificate.

The place is like 10miles of crazy traffic each way. I am NOT happy.

I also TRIED to get a ss card for dd since ex-dh lost the first one. I brought her birth certificate. NOPE. They want me to get a letterhead from her SCHOOL saying I am her mom and that she goes to school there. Um, that makes no sense. Or, I have to get the original of her immunization record. Nobody will give an original, only a copy. What a bunch of baloney.

But hey, I am getting there. I have a list of things I have to do and I am going down the line marking them off so I can get my stress down.

I'm glad you are taking time out for yourself and getting the things you need to get done. It's a nice feeling even though some is a pain in the butt.

Good idea about the list.

Dealing with the gov't usually is only marginally more pleasant than going to the dentist. Good luck!

When I tried getting my DD a new SS card it was like nothing I had ever been through. After jumping through all of the hoops to prove that she was indeed born and alive, and getting nowhere, I finally asked the lady if should would like to see the scare I had for proof of birth. LOL It didn't take me much longer to get the card after that.

I got my license and registration address changed.
Leak is fixed.
Ex dh found his copy of dd's ss card and will try to get me copies when he goes to VT (where we are from) to visit family
I need to follow up with auto ins. Haven't heard from the guy!
