Lived alone for 4 years between wifes...the best time of my life !!! Didn't really save any money due to my lifestyle at that time but boy was it worth it. LMAO !!!
But really, when the family takes trips for a few days back home I really enjoy the time alone. A little older and wiser now I guess. If it all falls apart though I could never see myself living with another person....I love that me time.

I lived alone for many years, but then when I bought my first house I started having borders/roommates, just to have extra money and to have someone to watch my cats when I traveled for work. I bought my second house 8 years ago and am still renting out a room. My roommates have been anywhere from 3 mos to two years - most have been really great - clean cut, pay the rent on time, hardly home. I do a month-to-month lease with a 30 day notice. It's been really awesome.
The extra money has really helped me when I was doing fertility treatments and now, with adoption. My roommate is moving out at the end of the month, which is good - ready to have the house back to myself and he's been here 2 years. I don't need the money - I can make all of my bills, etc. and have money leftover, but it just helps me save more for retirement, do extra stuff to the house, etc.
I prefer to live alone except for the extra $.

Spend less
Save more $ in ES

I have been divorced for YEARS!!
I've lived with just the cats since my daughter married and moved out.
I love it.
While I'm not currently dating anyone - I would love to have a man in my life - BUT NOT IN MY HOUSE!!Jean

I had a roommate before I got married. She was pretty cool, clean, and rarely made any noise. We did end up with our world views differing, so she moved out. It was fine, though, because my girlfriend's lease was up on her apartment, so she moved in a week later.
I don't think I would want to live with male roommates again after college.

I'm divorced and live alone with my cat in a flat that I own. It would be cheaper to share expenses and I do miss the dual income I had when I was married, but I can afford to live alone and I prefer to live alone, so I'd rather save money in other areas.

I live alone as well and I also love it. I like the quiet, and being able to do what I want when I want. Sometimes I would like to have someone to help with all of the things that need to be done around the house, but other than that, my dogs and cat and I are all content.

I have been single all my life and have lived with room mates and lived alone. I liked both. Now I really prefer to have someone around. It occurred to me when I moved from the city to this village I live in that if I was to fall down the stairs it could be weeks before anyone even knows I am dead as I don't see people here on a regular basis. I also appreciate having a person around to pass time with or just to have the extra hands to do things...either for me or them. I like getting up and having someone to say "good morning" to or "want to watch a movie tonight?". Someone to teach me how to be a good gardener or introduce me to canning and dehydrating projects.
A room mate I had in the city for 14 years was an absolute angel particularly when I was sick. We used the barter system a lot as he was on a limited income. For example, he would go get groceries for me and I cooked him dinner in return. It worked out really well.
Course, when they go out for the evening or away for a week or so I am in heaven also...cause I still like to put my old walkman on and dance by myself in the living room. Oh...don't tell me you all don't do that cause I know you do. lol

I live alone but I have a small, cheap, place. My condo only cost me $40K and it's paid off. My condo fee, prop. taxes, and utilities total $300/mo on average so I couldn't live much cheaper anyway. There is a spare bedroom that I could probably charge $300/mo for and live for free but it would be cramped and not worth it to me.

I live alone with my 2 cats. Sometimes I like it cos I do whatever I feel like when I feel like it. But it sure does get lonely sometimes too.
Had a boyfriend last year and he was just horrible, so if it has to be like that - I would rather it be just me and the cats.

I was a single mom for four years (I had one child) and that is when I really learned to budget. I enjoyed the peace and quiet too much to have someone else in our home and I am sure I could not have shared my home with a stranger.....that would have too creepy for me.
