OH.
You got a scam private message sent to you via the FV PM system. The goal of the message is to get you to click their link which will then take you to a place that will infect you.
What was the user who sent you this "warning"? Please report the PM so Gabe can address it.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

It happened this morning when I went to click on a PM from mamamia about my roast recipe. It must have been at about 9am MST.
I'm running a second scan with AVG Anti-Virus. I'll let you know if it finds anything.Last edited by MomToTwoBoys; 03-09-2010 at 12:41 PM.

I ran the second scan and it came up clean.
The tab that was running Frugal Village stopped working, and when I went to close the tab and reopen FV, I got an error called Data Execution Prevention.
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.
DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.
It only does this with the FV tab and none of the others that I run.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Mahalo for the info.

I wouldn't know whether my computer was infected, affected, or disinfected. Have a 28 year old computer geek son that moved back home. He could help me learn, but he never seems to have time, and when I ask in the car how you made a website, the DW got a little hostile and said what are you planning now. I guess I'll just rely on ad-adware, and antivir personal free stuff. I don't know whether I'm cheap or frugal, but do know I don't have any money, so it doesn't matter
You guys do the worrying and I'll stumble around in ignorance.
