Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

    So Gabe,

After installing a new anti-virus program that also detects for phishing, I went to check my inbox this morning and got this:

AVG Anti-Virus blocked whatever it was and I was able to come back, but there's something phishing from the forums. I ran a scan of my system yesterday and cleaned out everything.

Have you come across something like this?

First, there is no fishing from the forums. If you say there is fishing please provide a screenshot of what your experiencing.

At first glance it looks like you have a virus on your computer already.

You say you went to your inbox. That would be your email no?
Not sure how frugalvillage comes into play with your email?

I would unplug the computer and get it fixed.
Or better, test drive unbuntu with a live CD and see if you experience fishing on frugalvillage. My guess is that you will not experience any issues.

    Your computer appears compromised.

P.S. I removed the IP to the virus download you put in the thread. Don't post messages like this. Take an image and put disclaimers.
Someone might go ahead and copy it in their browser and download the virus.

The IP you posted is of a computer in Turkey.
I can't control viruses dropped by servers that I don't manage.

Sorry about the IP. I didn't think anyone here would do that.

I ran the anti-virus flush yesterday and this happened this morning. The version of AVG that I have is updated and it wasn't detected by McAfee either. I've had a virus protection unit on my PC since I got it from hubby nine months ago. I think if anything was on the machine, it'd have been detected by now.

If it happens again, I'll screenshot it and post it.

The inbox was on here, not in my email. My email is through Windows Mail and there's a virus scanner on Windows Mail.

This doesn't happen on any other page and/or with any other program.
