Loofah slice recipe:
1 large clean frozen juice concentrate can
1 loofah sponge
Glycerine soap bar(s), in color(s) desired
Cut the loofah sponge to fit to within 1/4 inch of the top of the can.
Depending upon the size of the sponge, you may be able to fill
more than one can.
Melt soap over very low heat or in a glass dish in the microwave.
Meanwhile, put the loofah into the can. Let soap cool down, but do not let it harden. Pour cooled melted soap into the can.
When the soap has hardened and dried, tear away the can, then
slice the loofah soap into thin slices for individual gifts or personal
use.
Can wrap in cellophane with a raffia bow for giftwrapping. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. These are really nice, and I've been wanting to try my hand at making soaps for a while. I might just try it this month--I have a lot of birthdays to buy for in the next few months, and these would make pretty and inexpensive gifts.

I saw this as a neat soap idea too. Similar to the loofah, but with a poof.

Can I get some microwave-specific soap recipies that don't take a lot of room? My counter is 12 inches by 14 inches... I used to make soap when we lived with the inlaws, but then I had a 2ft by 8 ft counter to work on and 3 double boilers...
