We've done a bit of research into areas to live and work in, and although Craig wants to live in LA (cos he wants to hang out at the Whiskey ), but Texas has come up many times with affordable (for us) homes and many job opportunities, specially in fDHs field of Human Resources.

We have sat down and discussed this at length, and this is a very real possibility for us, particularly as we would be able to buy a home outright in suburban Dallas, and Craigs sister lives in FL as a permanent resident so would be able to sponsor us visa-wise.

But we don't really know about Dallas and the surrounding areas, would anyone be able to give us some tips and pointers of where to avoid and where is nice to live? As for the rest of the process of immgrating we will be looking into that with a solicitor but wanted to get some first hand knowledge of where to put the roots down so to speak!

    Thanks in advance
I used to work for the Texas branch of an English company. Of all the employees from the home office who were offered jobs in America, every single one of them took it. Only one American moved to the UK, and that was because he'd met and married a woman there.

So I think your decision to move to Texas would be good for you.

That being said, Texas is a big place. Dallas isn't much, but I live in Fort Worth, 25 miles west from Dallas, and it's different here. Slower pace, nicer people, lower taxes, less crime. An American humorist (Will Rogers) said "Fort Worth is where the West begins. Dallas is where the East peters out." That about sums it up. We're proud of our western heritage here.

    Come see for yourself!

We love the Magnolia Texas area. stay close to the town and you can enjoy it more. Best school in Texas, look it up on internet. I dont have children but lots of friends children are in Magnolia schools.
Been here 12 years and love it. 70 mile commute to Houston, 25 to Conroe, 45 mi to Texas A& M.

We havent a clue how to start couponing except find I have new printer and can download off internet. Have any suggestions?

We gave to a family at Christmas who needed air conditioner and also fixed lady's brakes since she was left with 3 under the age of 14, 6, 2. Been blessed eversince. She is beautician and comes here free to do my hair and husbands wkly.

Other friends today moved our bedroom to the living room letting me be closer to kitchen area. (Husband disabled vet , cancer ) and I am a tired caretaker and being near him is so much better)

We have awesome family here from London I believe who run an Auction. That saves us lots of monies. I worked free of charge for them but got lots of deals and still do.

If I had to live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I'd choose Fort Worth. If I had a choice as to what city, I'd pick Austin. The people are friendly, the area is beautiful. I've never been in an area of Austin that I wouldn't like to live.
