shrinking package sizes
I'm not sure where to post this... it's just a rant about manufacturers decreasing the package sizes.
I purchased a container of Folgers Classic Roast coffee yesterday - the size is 33.9 oz now, down from 39 oz when I purchased the same coffee in September.

Watch Landry soap too. We've been working on a project thats been resizing both powder and liquid soaps. Small amounts and more money.

I found my store brand tuna is not only STILL 6 oz but cheaper too but when I went to get more, they were OUT.
Figures.
Name brand tuna hardly makes one sandwich these days. The math never lies, budget in INK!

I noticed this also with can goods and spaghetti sauces. Shame.

I buy cashews at walgreens usually 20 oz. for $4. Went last week and they are now 14 oz. I did manage to find 2 of the 20 oz bags but 6 oz less for the same amount of money.

What's killing me is the amount of lunch meat in a package getting less and less but now costs almost $4 to over that! I only buy lunch meat with coupons or on a great sale now and freeze the stuff. Or I get bologna.
Speaking of tuna that brought back memories of my mom stretching two cans of tuna between six people by always adding chopped onions, chopped pickles, boiled eggs, and crushed crackers with the mayo. It seems I have to use three to four cans just to get enough for three people but I only add pickles, celery and mayo. I think I need to go back to doing it the way mom did with the crackers as a stretcher.

The 3 oz pouches of tuna are now 2.6 oz but are the same size. Sneaky, sneaky!

The vegetarian "hot dogs" I buy use to be 10 to a pack, now they are just 8. To top it off, not only did the number of hot dogs decrease, but the size of them as well.
Normally I don't complain about these kind of things, but I actually got a little annoyed when I noticed this this a couple of weeks ago.DD (19)

I know I should not get upset, but this practice just feels decitful. My favorite food group, ice cream, has fallen victim to this marketing scam. Also, I think the new concentrated laundry and dish washing detergents seem to make you use more than before. I have begun added water to increase them to their original volume. I can't tell any difference in cleanliness of clothes or laundry.
