    Default Do you ever

get that look when someone see's your stockpile? You know the one, big eyes and questions like "what are you doing with all of that????"

My cousin happened to see my stockpile of HBA. She couldn't understand why I had so much soap, shampoo, lotion, and things like that. She was big eye'd like a deer caught in the head lights looks and couldn't even imagine why I would have so many things stockpiled. She was truly shocked, I just counted my blessings that she didn't see the food stockpile!

So when I explained it she still didn't get it, so I finally lost it and said, "Oh hell its for Christmas!" I just couldn't bang my head against the wall any longer in trying to explain to her why I wanted a stockpile........

My MIL gets that look, but then again she does the same thing in a way.

My DM looked at mine and was like, 'Wow, so you did learn something from me!'

My DH was pretty concerned the first time I mentioned a stockpile and now, he's onboard and being proven to that a stockpile (no matter how big it is) really works for us financially.

LOL. Only one of my sisters has seen mine and it is not huge yet by any means.

Then I went to her house and she told me she bought a 3 pack of toothpaste and said"I have a stockpile too!" LOL

I told her I was proud of her.

Now she wants me to teach her how to make dough after having a home meade donut from here.

Some people just get the idea that stockpilers are doomsdayers waiting for the "big one" to wipe out humanity....no, sorry, we just worry about the economy and have the abitity to see a good deal when it shows itself.

Last night I went into my sewingroom, threw a bag of dogfood over my shoulder, and came back into the diningroom with it. My dh teased me"You know I hate it when you go to the "store" after dark!" LOL

This is one of those things that people either get it or they don't. Dw does not like for anyone to see inside the pantry or our other caches. It is easier not to have to explain.

My stockpile is small I am sure in comparison to some of yours....but we still get looks. My mom thinks it is great..and we are now planning our stockpiles together. She is also splitting gardening plans with me too. We are each going to focus on things that grow well where we live, and then after canning in late summer, we will split the bounty. We keep each other up to date on bargins that we find, It's a good thing that I have unlimited long distance.
