    Default Stockpiling $ saving

This summer I got the Bush Grilling beans for $.25 a can after $1 off coupon when they were on sale for $1.25 noticed them in the grocery store yesterday and they were $2.25 a can. Thank goodness I got a lot of those coupons and bought a lot of those beans as one can of those beans at the regular price = 9 cans on sale with coupon.

    This is only one example.
This is the reason why I stockpile.
It pays me to do so.
I look at using coupons as a second job.
Please share an example of your coupon/stockpiling success.

since i stopped couponing due to expense of the paper i use all store brands anyway. BUT i always check the markdown areas of the store! Also if laundry soap is onsale for a good price and i have the money i will buy what it takes for a year. Like this week as the soap i use 35 laods for $1.88 so i would need 11 bottles to get a year, so that will be a savings of 13.75!

I just started couponing a month ago.
In a month with coupons I was able to fill my cabinets and freezer for very little. I was able to get more items for less money!
Things were tight around here and sometimes we would have to decide whether we would pay a bill or go get groceries.

Not anymore. This morning I paid all of my bills in full, and I do not need to get anything from the store except milk, since I have managed to stockpile everything that we need for at least 3 weeks with coupons.
The double coupons at Kmart really helped, as did the Black Friday deals at CVS.
I am fully stocked with food and shampoo, etc and can actually buy presents!

What an awesome way to look at it! I didn't even think of that, but it's definately true! I'm sure I've "earned" more than I could have by actually working a second job. And it's a lot more satisfying!

Great job ladies. Doesn't stockpiling make sense? It's so good to know that you're prepared for anything.

see - this is why I preach the whole sales watching/couponing/stockpiling thing!!!

way to go - doesn;t it feel great?? just think of all the money that you "made" when you got those beans.....and anything else you can stockpile up on like that!!!

I'm new to the whole frugal thing and stockpiling. However, I'm not new to using coupons. I have been using coupons for the past 6 years. I love them. I thankfully get them free from my mother. She buys the paper and gives me the coupons (she was just going to throw them away). I also get coupons on-line and through the mail. I'm very new to the stockpiling. I have tried to get a few items back stocked. So far, I have peanut butter, sugar, cokes, and bacon. I does feel good to know that I do not HAVE to pay high prices when I NEED something. I'm going to try next year to concentrate on this.

It does make you feel so good about what you have done.
Here is another item that I got that was such a good deal that I wonder if I will ever get such a good deal again.
The items are Farmland bacon and Sausage.
I got coupons for $2 off the bacon it was $2.50 so I paid .50 a pound for it.
The sausage was $1 off coupon and it was on sale for a $1 so free sausage and I bought as many of those coupons as I could get a hold of. My deep freeze is still 1/2 to 3/4 full of sausage and bacon.
    It so "pays" to coupon.

I think this is a great thread and so I thought I would bump it up with my recent "stockpile"
I purchased 14 boxes of A&H baking soda at .42 per small box...used the $1/2 boxes A&H so I got them all for free!!! Free is the best sort of stockpile for me!

I have 10 tubes of toothpaste that I made $$ with. I buy toothpaste when it is free after rebate and I have a coupon to go with it. So I make money each time I do this. I haven't bought toothpaste in over 3 years and I've given away several tubes. I also do this with anything I can get free after rebate and use a coupon, so the toothpaste is one example. I have a ton of medicines, cleaners, cosmetics, and hygiene procucts.

I am learning about stockpiling, is there a place where I can find a list of how long things can be stored? Can I store things in an attic space? I have a space over my carport that is secure and would be great for dry goods in storage containers I think. My husband can get me containers that I can put with twist on lids. We use them for goat feed and dog feed for our farm will this work for other items? Just wondering if anybody else does this because our house is small. I have a way up to my attic from inside and can also build shelves to place thing there and it is well insulated but kinda hot in the summer. Not very cold in the winter though.
