I think she said it was for 2 years. The really Wow part is that's not even her whole pantry. She said she had buckets lined up on her walls. Wowser is right. I find those pics to be most inspiring.

My question then becomes - why 2 years. Wouldn't a lot of that be expired or is it mostly items that don't have an expiration date.
Don't get me wrong, I've stockpiled for 1 year and lived off it. Two years seems quite extreme to me. I realize it's her pantry, just curious.

I agree with homesteadmamma. That does seem like a lot. You would really have to watch expiration dates carefully. But it might be mostly really long term stuff.

:::drool::: I am green with envy! If she has the time and space to organize it all, more power to her! You never know, she could have been paid to take those items out of the store and/or maybe she plans to sell some of it off for profit.
It would be nice to see a closeup of what exactly she has stocked. Many HBA don't go bad but I agree 2 years of food would be excessive especially since it takes time and energy to dispose of expired products.Jill, SAHM to Ivy Marie 11/24/08

Amazing. I am green with envy too LOL
I would be donating some of that to the food pantry when they do their drives through K & L's schools. I love sending in food/supplies

because the original poster of those pics was working on a 10-20 yr stockpile of foods.. beyond what you cnan see and know what it is is alot of freeze dried and mtn house type foods that last 10 yrs or more in some cases.
Some folks (self included) feel that having a year - 2 yrs or more is going to be important in the near future. I can assure you that everything was dated and expiration dates were known on that stockpile.
