Default when does white vinegar go on sale?

I try to buy items when they are on sale, but I had to get white vinegar at full price today. It was $2.79 for 1 gallon! I know many of you use a lot of vinegar; do stores put it on sale occasionally? All I could find looking at my old price records, was sales in July (canning season?)....

I don't think I've ever seen it on sale either, but 1 gallon is $1.69 at Price-Rite. I just bought it a couple weeks ago. If you have a Price-Rite near you, you might try looking there.

The least expensive vinegar I get is from Sam's Club. It's less expensive than any "on sale" vinegar - which commonly goes on sale around here during canning season. I stocked up when it was $2.79/2-gallons, but it's gone up to $3.38/2-gallons. It's sold in a box with two 1-gallon jugs in each box so you have to purchase 2-gallons.

I am in Northern IL. My local Schnucks (Logli) had Schnucks White vinegar on sale yesterday for $1.49 a gallon. I thought that was a pretty good price but after reading here it sounds like a great price. I think I'll try and pick up a few more before the weeks out. (Their sale week here runs from Wed to Tues).

I get my white vinegar at Superstore, who usually has awesome sales. I bought two 5-litre jugs for $2.99 a piece the other day. That's my cutoff price limit for white vinegar. If I can get it for cheaper, that's awesome. The sales are usually pretty often and if they go at least $2 for the 4-litre jugs, then I'll buy them at that time too. I figure that with $2 per 4 litres, compared to $2.99 for 5 litres, I get a better deal if I buy the 4-litre sizes.

These sales are all year round and luckily, the pickling vinegar is sold right next to it.
