Default Another stockpiling suggestion for entertainment

Let us just say for the sake of worse case it all hit the fan purposes it all hits the fan!

Lets say you have no power. What would you do with yourself and your family to keep from going batty.

    Some suggestions---

    Boardgames, cards,outdoor sports,
crafts such as hand quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, crochet, painting
    reading

So, it would make sense to stockpile these things.

Right off the top of my head I have 40 books right now.

Games, cards, assorted balls, bikes, horseshoes, marbles, jumproaps etc

craft supplies, yarns, fabrics, threads, papers and glues, paint, markers and paper..also, you could make tops now to hand quilt later and have plenty of batting on hand and all fabric, yarn type crafts become functional items for warmth, cleaning, whatever

    Finally books! I read fast!

I have decided to put up 365 books--CRAZY! I will go get .25 Goodwill books, .50 hardbacks, garagesale books, books just given to me and I will also hold on to my favorites I already have..Harry Potters, All the little house books, my Patrick Dennis books, James Harriots,my bartamataus books, all the Twilights etc so I am already a little bit ahead.

What do you think of stockpiling entertainment???Any ideas to pass along????

I would make sure to have adequate lighting to enjoy them. A flashlight is really no good to play games with. I know, we tried and learned we need something else.

I am such a bookaholic that I need to build up my book supply from my favorite (10 cent) book store, batteries and book light.

Husband is a solitaire freak - don't know if he is truly aware that solitaire can be played with real cards and not on the computer - but I will have cards for him.

We have a lot of games that we both enjoy, but haven't played too much lately.

A room full of craft supplies for the creative urge.

We can always go to the beach (across the street) for a change.

This topic brought up some good thinking time.

Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

This really is a great idea, something we don't often think about is ways to entertain ourselves. This really has me thinking, and I am going to start looking to put stuff away that would make good entertainment for not only the kids but the adults also. Things like a cribbage board, checker and chess board, how about those old 7 in 1 games that has the board for a number of different games in one package.
Crayons and coloring books are always fun, a few notebooks, reading books and how to books. How about a wind up radio.......puzzles, and some outdoor games like croquet, a jump rope, chalk for hopscotch, and some balls like soccer or basketballs. Even some little beach balls would be easy to store.
I think one of the best places I have found to help out with ideas on lighting and lamps is Lehman's.

They have some great lamps and lights that are awesome, and they work great.
