I stock up on food items for the holidays! I love the sales on baking items, or in the summer holidays things like ketchup, bbq sauce, etc.

I keep a stockpile of Christmas gift items and purchase them year round. I found some GREAT bargains recently at Wal-Mart while they were changing the entire store around. The clearance isle was expanded and loaded with all kinds of wonderful things! A good sale is always appreciated because we have a $10 gift limit.

When I read a news article recently about the possibility of sugar being scarce, I found a good sale and stocked up. We don't normally use sugar, other than the holidays, so we're set for fudge and peanut brittle making.

I also stock-up at the end of the holidays - trays, containers, linens, mugs, etc.... Things that can be filled with goodies for distribution to friends, neighbors, and relatives.

I always set aside money in my grocery budget to purchase on-sale nuts after the holidays. I vacuum seal them with my FoodSaver and stick them in the freezer to use for the next year. I've often gotten them 75% off.
