Not sure how well it'd freeze b/c cottage cheese has some liquid in it and wouldn't that turn to ice and freezer burn your cottage cheese? I think I read a while back somewhere that soft cheeses don't freeze well.
If you're going to use it in a sauce or lasagna I'd like to think it's ok but it may not be same texture as it was before you put it into the freezer and may be unappealing to eat after thawed.
But I'm sure others here will have better answers

good answer Libby - makes sense to me!!
Cottage cheese does store better and longer in the refrigerator if you store it upside down.
If you make a dish with cottage cheese, I think it could be frozen then.
Would not freeze plain cottage cheese though.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

When it comes to freezing cottage, the best kind to freeze is the dry form, not cream-style cottage cheese. It also has a short freezer life of 1-month, so it's not worth the trouble. It will keep that long in the refrigerator (as the other posted above).
If you freeze cottage cheese, you'll have the liquidy separation from thawing it, so plan on using it in cooking/baking after it thaws (and thaw it in the refrigerator).

Hey.....thanks. I have not done that. But I have found that if the seal is good on it that it will go well past the expiration date w/o going bad. Just have to eat it quick once you open it.
I eat a lot of it in the summer......with mandarin oranges or tomatoes.......YUM! A quick lunch when I am gardening!
