    Default My first time

I've never really been able to stock up before, but we should be getting our fed back tomorrow and for the first time we don't have any big things to pay for this tax time, so I thought I'd take some $$ and stock up on some stuff..

Can anyone tell me if I'm thinking in the right way, keeping in mind we don't have great sales here...

    Laundry stuff
    Shampoo and conditioner
    Body wash
    Hand wash
    Cereal
    Toilet paper
    Noodles
    Rice
    Tuna
    Soup
    Sauces (sgetti)
    Etc.

Do you happen to have a Krogers? They are having a Mega sale. What stores do you have? Check the coupon sites for the stores in your area and see what is on sale or loss leaders, those would be great to stock up on it you need them, they are on your list and happen to be on sale. Good luck. Hope you can get some great deals.

Your list sounds like a good start. I have a pantry list, and try to get things that are needed on it when they have loss leaders.

Nope... We have Walmart, Countrymart(which I wont shop in), and Rameys, but most of their stuff is still to much even with store sales.. So, we have Walmart.....

I don't have a printer so most of those coupon sites aren't to helpful..

See what you mean. Coupon Mom does have a section for Walmart which will show you what some consider great prices, on sale or loss leaders. Hope that helps. Good luck stocking up.

    Laundry stuff

    Body wash
    Hand wash
    Cereal
    Toilet paper
    Noodles
    Rice
    Tuna
    Soup
    Sauces (sgetti)
    Etc.
Your list sounds great. Here's what I would add:

    razors (if you use them)
specify what "etc" is BEFORE you go to the store.
CANNED food. Lots of canned food if you eat it, or frozen if you have a deep freeze. With intent, actually think about what you want to eat.
Consider giving up some of the hand-wash body-wash stuff and make your own. Then throw that money at more food or other toiletries.
Female hygiene items if there's anyone in the house that needs it. Buy large amount at once, shove in closet, peace of mind.

The more you specify to yourself exactly what you are getting the less chance of the bill just ringing up really high and you wondering where the $ went a month later. (ya...speaking from experience here)
LDR , 2 DD (one left the nest, one rarely home) More pets than money. More love than sense.

"If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, march down there and light it yourself."

    Full-time job
    Car loan and personal loan
    Challenges for 2012:
2012 Grocery Budget Reduction Challenge- $100 a month. (down from $150) Hm, might be too low.
Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

Do you have a big lots near you. On the rare times I go there I have found some pretty good prices on their food items.
