We ate the food in our deep freeze before we moved last November, so we've been slowly filling it back up with good quality meats - a turkey here, a ham there. I've got it about 2/3 full. I've also been re-purposing plastic drink bottles by cleaning them, filling them with water to about 2/3 full, and freezing them. A full freezer uses much less energy than an empty one, and if something happens and we don't have water, there's a good water source for awhile.

Nothing, till this stupid state shut-down is over and my husband can go back to work. Till then, no income for us.

Basic staples are what I buy most to stock up on. HBA's would be a close runner up...
I usually wait until they've reached a good sale price and try to match coupons with that...love getting great deals!

No stockpiling right now. For me, it's the 'lean' summer month one of two (I work for a school afterschool program). I am working - at our July, 'daycamp'. It's not full $, but every little bit helps. Going through the freezers and madly rotating supply for meals.

My last "stock up" was split peas, .69 a lb. Won't use 'em till winter, but they don't go bad easily, so I'm all set.

Ended up finding a few things today! I'm finding I have to really search for the deals because the loss leaders are usually not that great any more. Walgreens has a store coupon for three 14 oz. Ajax cleansers for $1.00, got those, and a rain check for two free toothbrushes. Also stocked up on Old Orchard frozen juice for $1.00, got 12!
