    Talking My stockpile closet

I found some heavy duty utility shelves in not-very-good shape. I wedged them into a closet in my family room that I suspect was once a dumbwaiter. This is where I keep my stockpiled canned goods and dried goods.

Before we put the shelves in, things were just shoved in randomly. Now I'm organized and can actually find what I'm looking for!

    (Not the world's best pic!)

Looks great. Suggestion...I looked to see if I could tell if they were metal or plastic. Mine are plastic.
You have alot of canned and so do I. Keep an eye on the middle for bowing. One of my mine gave out. Keep it as balanced out as possible.
Love to look at stockpile pics

Niko - I've since reorganized a little to move the heavier items to the outside of the shelves because I noticed just that. Do you just keep yours mostly along the edges? Does that resolve the issue?

Heavier along the edges yes. lighter in middle. Kind of keeps the poles straight that way.

I had noticed bowing in the middle of the shelves. Thought nah...nothing will happen. Then when it went... it pulled the outer poles in and the poles broke...snapped caving inward.

Also nothing really heavy on the very top one...it tends to press downward and puts a lot of stress on the poles giving them the tendency to bend inward...I used top for a few cans but mostly boxes, kitchen wraps, etc.
