Default Hooray for Wal-Mart's Anniversary Sale!

I hit the motherlode by accident today. I went to Walmart to pick up one item (which I forgot, I might add) and saw the flyer for their anniversary sale. It's always by far the best sale of the year.

I spent $130 and replenished my stockpile beautifully.

    I got............

    2 Lysol Wipes
    4 boxes of Tampons
    6 Irish Spring
    24 Mr. Noodle
    6 Kraft Dinner
    2 lbs barley
    24 rolls TP
    12 rolls paper towels
    6 bags Bits and Bites
    8 boxes of Ritz
6 boxes of Ritz Bits with cheese
    3 pounds of pears
    3 pounds of peaches
    10 pounds of Folgers Coffee
    4 jugs of liquid Tide

    Yippeee~~~~~~~~~~~

Neither did I, maybe it is when the store opened in your area, I do not know.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing - all the Wal Marts here have them, and yes, they relate to when they opened.

One nod to the economy: usually the sales last two weeks. This year it's one week only. If some money falls from the sky I am going to go back and get some more coffee and Tide.

I also didn't know they had an anniversary sale. Sounds great and I would go back too.
Sounds like you got some great deals. Love it when a sale comes together.

Maybe it's the anniversary of when they came to Canada? I don't know if the flyer is national or regional, but I didn't find the sale that great this year.

I do believe the anniversary sale has been going on for the past three years with this being the third year here in Canada. I usually stock up on dish soap (Dawn) and snacky items for lunches at this sale (Pringles, Crispers, snacking crackers etc)

This year I did manage to stock up on Pringles, Crispers & Ritz, Listerine, feminine products, Dawn, both Mr Clean & Lysol products, Charmin, Bounty and a few other misc things. The bonus this year, I was given SUPER AWESOME high dollar value, 2 for 1 and B1G1 free coupons. Man did I ever have to wrangle the cashiers into going to check with their managers about my coupons while I held up the line for those bargains. Well worth it if you ask me and I did apologize to the person behind me and warn them of my coupons as a courtesy.

The other bonus to the annual Walmart Anniversary sale - the other big box stores try to compete so they have great sales too: Loblaws/Superstore, Canadian Tire, Zellers. I found that Loblaws had Cascade dishwasher tabs on sale for $4.99/25ct and they had a $2 off coupon on the big board next to where you pick up your shopping cart. Awesome!
