    i don't know if this is the right thread but here goes -one of the men on the crew thats replacing the roof on my house is going to give me all the venison i can handle all he wants is for me to make half of it jerky for him so it looks like I'll be making almost of it in jerky but some will be caned -he lives in Virgina and he has unlimited hunting so it looks like i'll have a steady source of meat--i think its a win win deal-got a hind quarter already cut up and in the dehydrators-mmmmm--hugs to all

    WOO HOO! I love deer meat. Luckily my hunting brother is single and can't use all the meat. So he gives me lots. I am getting ready to make elk jerky.

    omg! u are so lucky. deer meat is good for you. waaay back when i was married, my husband was an avid hunter and that is all we ate. he made some jerky, but we canned the majority of it and had free meat all year. good for you!!!
