Great read...I especially liked the idea of "SOLUTION TO THE FOOD STORAGE MADNESS" in which food was stored by year, not type...something I'm going to give thought to.

I think in another year or so I will have to go to the "year" thing
with my tomato products. Could see where that would really work.

Don't think I would use it for jam as I like to have different kinds and one would get buried behind something else.

I am just at the buying shelves stage now.........just bought one from thrift and it held all for this year.

I enjoyed reading the article, I like the writing style.
Its also a very creative way to meet the changing needs of storage as stockpiles grow.

    Interesting!!

She says if you run out of jelly you can go to the next year for jelly but only if you are truly out of jelly for that year. What happens when the jelly is gone from all the years? No jelly? I am wondering how she records that 5 jars of jelly was not enough for 2011, for example.

I would need a sort of Plan Do Check Adjust method to avoid the dipping into further years as well.
