How long could you eat from your stockpile?
When a neighbor redid her kitchen I noticed that she had very little cabinet space. I asked her and she said that she just has to go to the grocery store all the time.
How long could you feed your family without going to the grocery store?
We have a chest freezer and a pantry cabinet 30inches by 54 inches that has food (the section above that we use for other storage). In the cellar I have a 5 foot shelf for extra tp, paper towels, laundry detergent.
I'm guessing we could eat for about 6 weeks. With milk/juice being the only real problem.

I'm getting close to the 6 month mark, just a few more items I need. We'd have to purchase fresh fruit and milk, although in a tight squeeze we could forgo the milk.

I think that modern homes have far too few cupboards. It's like the people who live in them don't eat!
Right now we could live for at least 5-6 months without going to the store. This is presuming that I would be prepared to drink milk powder milk and wouldn't be belted over the head with a cricket bat by DH for whining about it. We are building up our stockpile to last us 1 year.
We survived on our stockpile for three weeks. It was quite easy. It would be fine if I'd have planned it. I would have had frozen milk in the freezer. But despite that and tea, we did ok. The story is here in this thread:

I think a couple of months.
I am very excited, the house we are building has a butler's pantry and a walk in pantry. I can't wait!

Desperate.......we could go 3 to 4 months. I don't have an huge selection of fruits & veggies, though, and if it started today, we'd have mostly whole wheat & oat flour & corn meal. I've only got about 20 lbs of white flour.
Not desperate........3 to 4 weeks.
I have shelves in my laundry room in the basement, plus my coat closet that my husband put in shelves. A deep freezer and a stand-up freezer & the freezer above the fridge. Everything's about full right now.

Once I replenish my canned milk, tomatoes and a couple of other things we can go 6 months. Without those things it would be about 3. I have a huge pantry, but I have let a few things go lately.

We COULD manage for about a year, although it would be really stretching it the last few months.
I have loads of meats/fruits/veggies canned/frozen/dehydrated, grains stored for grinding, sour dough started. . . . . powdered and canned milk. . . .
We'd miss the fresh produce, and milk. . . but we'd manage. I'd be glad for spring and garden produce again.

I don't have a stockpile either. We are living a hand to mouth existance right now.
I do have 10kg.of whole wheat kernels (which I grind) which I buy wholesale. I also have lots of blueberries and blackberries in the freezer. Thats it.

I would say three months....since it is just us two, I can usually get two meals out of every dinner I make...I might even be able to stretch it further...now I don't have a good stockpile of T.P. or bath soap, so we would be using catalog pages and we would probably be pretty stinky

I don't have a stockpile per se, but I'd say 4-6 weeks right now.
