    Smile stockpiling ideas?

I'm taking part of my government free tax giveaway(stimulus payment) to stockpile my pantry and freezer. What are items you stockpile in your pantry/freezer?

The best items for you to stockpile are the ones you or your family uses every day. My approach has been to make sure I always have a lot of canned goods, dry goods such as flour, sugar, rice, beans and pasta around. I only stock up when things are buy one get one free, or at a price that I know is a dramatically low price. I also stockpile (using the same pricing policies) laundry detergent, toiletries and feminine hygeine products as well as pet food and litter. We are in hurricane country, so I don't stock up on anything perishable but that's the reason I started to stockpile in the first place. Rushing out to the store for canned goods when a hurricane is on it's way isn't fun. My advice to you is to make the money that you set aside for stockpling stretch as far as you can. It's more fun that way.

I have two freezers that I keep stocked with meats and quick meals(frozen waffles, french fries, oven meals like frozen lasagna) etc. I buy meats on sale and on markdown and repackage them to suit our needs.

I also like to stockpile canned fruits, veggies, pastas, tuna, salmon, soups. I live in WV and we get bad snowstorms, etc. where we can be stuck at home for several days and sometimes with no power. We do have a generator and we can build a fire outside and cook if we need to. I also like to have several jars of peanut butter and things like ketchup, bbq sauce, etc.

I like to have several boxes of pastas, Hamburger Helper meals, cereals, crackers, bags of dried beans, etc.

I have several bottles of shampoo, toothpaste, soap and body wash, and I keep at least 48 rolls of toilet paper.

I try to buy it all on sale!

Try to stock up on baking items if you use them during the holidays. They seem to have better sales then.

Because I usually ride my bike back & forth to the grocery a couple of times a week and there's only so much I can carry, I'm a lightweight when it comes to stockpiling. Nonetheless, I usually have a good supply of foods we eat everyday, like canned/dried beans, canned tomatoes, dried pasta, frozen veggies/fruits, rice & other grains, butter (to freeze), mozzarella cheese (to freeze), oatmeal, flour, sugar & other baking supplies.

I'm low on TP at the moment, so I'll probably be building that supply in the near future if I find a good sale when I make the monthly visit to the big box. We usually have a back up bottle of shampoo/conditioner & body wash, plus a couple of containers of laundry detergent, fabric softener &, dish soap.

For the most part, I use HM cleaning products that I make from pantry items like baking soda & vinegar mixed with dish soap a couple of drops of essential oil, so I don't keep a lot of pre-made stuff around, although I admit a weakness for Murphy's Oil Soap.

We also keep a dozen old milk bottles of emergency water available at all times.

JSkell-thank you for that link! Lots of good info!
Thanks to everyone for giving me ideas! I'm going to have to get a list going of things I use often that would be good to stock up on.

YAY for HCW! I love that site. It's taught me everything I know about couponing and stockpiling. Heck, my stockpile pics from back in September are on there, when I first started. It's grown considerably since then.
