    Cool We just saved 600.00

Dh just saved us 600.00 a year on our homeowners insurance by getting a free home inspection done.

Look into it, your insurance company might pay for it too. It's a free home safety inspection, only takes the guy about 20 minutes. They write a report and give it to you on the spot. You then mail it into your insurance company and they adjust your policy. Ours went down by 600.00. Thats a lot a moola.

    That's great!

Would you mind telling who your insurance company is? Was this a program that they started or is this something that your husband thought to do on his own? I'm in the beginning stages of shopping for new auto and home insurance and this discount would help us alot. Thanks!

Since you asked I looked it up and I am afraid its a state thing. IT says MY FLORIDA HOME. We found it because we were reading our policy renewal and there were two pages about it. You just call an 1-800 number and it was all free. The inspector said that it is all ready paid for by your insurance policy. " basically , it's something you pay for wither or not you use if". If wouldn't hurt to call you insurance company and ask if they have anything like it.

Oh and my insurance is USAA

    300 a year! Try 2,000

now with the reduction it's 1,400

Insurance in Florida runs 2,000 for a typical home . My parents pay 3,200.
This is why something has to be done, people are moving out of the state.

WOW! That's a great savings, but the price is still scary!! I think ours is $300, or less,$30 month?

I know in other provinces here to to yearly flooding premiums are insane, we are in an area that has no earthquakes, no hurricanes, no flooding. There have been tornados though, but nothing in city limits since late 80's. So that doesn't affect us.

I can't imagine! That's more than our property taxes.

It's always interesting to see what different areas pay for things. It also puts into perspective. $4/gallon is nothing compared to Europe at $8/gallon.

WOW! That's a big chunk of change you saved! I think a free inspection may be in the works. :-) Thanks for the tip.
