Smile Finally Some Good News on Mortgage

We lost half of our income a little over a year ago when dh lost his job and got a new one. Our bills piled up and we couldn't make the mortgage payments anymore. We missed 3 payments and the folks from Make Home Affordable came to the rescue.

They knocked our mortgage in half for a 3 month trial period to see if we could make the payments on time. 3 months is up and we've had no trouble making the payments.

Friday, we got a call from MHA and they told us that we qualify for their program! They are drawing up the papers and all we need to do is get them signed and notarized.

3 months ago, I thought we were going to foreclose on the house but now, we get to stay. Our goal is to fix it up (long story here about getting screwed by the builder that I won't go into) and then sell it when the market improves.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am.
