No, not propane..........natural gas. We use it a lot here for heating. USED TO BE cheaper than elec. Maybe your area doesn't have that much of it. (like the pipe that blew up in Calif.)

Gees........never thought about it........maybe some (city) areas don't have it.

(my mom and dad didn't/couldn't have it .......in the little town in Idaho where I was raised.........people had to use propane if they didn't want elec.)

Yes, we use the stuff, like the pipe that blew up in cali. I'm pretty sure. Don't confuse me, what other gas is there?

Our electric went down this past bill by $75. Our dishwasher is broken, it supposed to be an energy star product but with a $75 drop in electric one has to wonder. It sure does not give DH any incentive to fix the thing.

You just reminded me Polly! That's why ours was down this month and still usually over 300. Our dishwasher broke down too!!! (our bill is usually delayed by two months the way the system works, so in Oct, I'm paying the end of the August bill)

I hate washing dishes by hand and this has been the first time in several years that I had too. Can't afford a new one and our water bill has not gone up doing this.

I can't believe I forgot to check the savings or increase in not having a dishwasher. Ours was very old though.

I'm totally hating it! Trust me, if DH had to do dishes he'd find the money to fix or replace the dishwasher. Since I'm doing them and the electric bill has dropped so drastically I fear it will be 2025 before I get a break.

My family knows how much I hate it too and dh just says....hey lets go use the Best Buy charge card and get you a new one. No thanks dear, I don't hate it that bad! lol Even though I complain.

I was in shock when I came home today and my 18 year old DD was washing them. It pays to go off on the teens once in awhile with a big lecture how they are not helping around the house. Or either she wants something..

If I came home and someone was doing the dishes of their own accord I'd faint dead away from the shock of it. Going off on DS1 would just cause huge attitude problems. My oldest already is suffering from that throw back male syndrome, you know the one, I work outside the home and I shouldn't have to do anything else. He is a real tough one, getting him to do anything is like pulling eyeteeth and it comes with a big attitude. Surprisingly, my youngest has been washing any dishes he makes, but only when asked. He's even been taking the trash out when asked. All without attitude! Must have had a visit from the pod people.

Just turned 16 and has matured rather nicely over the Summer.
